‘We Saved Who We Could’- Crew Member On ‘Night Watch’ Aboard Doomed Bayesian Breaks Silence

One of the Bayesian yacht survivors is breaking his silence as he is the one who was given the task of performing night duty.

 

As per reports from local media outlets, he claims that the crew saved who they could as the boat sank in a disaster that ended up killing seven including tech billionaire Mike Lynch.

The tech mogul who hailed from the UK died with his daughter and 5 others on board when poor weather conditions caused the superyacht to sink.

Miraculously, all of the crew members made it out alive including the ship’s captain.

Matthew Griffiths says he was devastated when he saw a freak waterspout just a few hundred miles away from the port during the early hours of the morning.

He was on watch duty throughout the night of the incident and explained how the whole crew united and did everything to save those on board.

At the moment, he alongside the boat’s engineer and captain are being investigated by the Italian police for potential manslaughter and shipwreck.

This does not mean that they are deemed guilty just yet and they might get away without any formal charges too.

Matthew says he woke up the captain when the win was 20 knots and gave orders to everyone to wake all others up. He added that in no time, the ship tilted and they were thrown into the water. Then when they got back up, the crew tried to save anyone they could.
