NBA Legend Dikembe Mutombo Passes Away Tragically

Basketball legend and hall of famer Dikembe Mutombo has passed away at the age of 58.

 

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his family who mentioned the star fought a long and hard battle with brain cancer but that came to an end.

The star who was known for being an eight-time NBA all-star champion was raised in the Republic of Congo but shifted to the US when he was just 21. He was selected fourth by the Denver Nuggets in the year 1991 Draft.

He then went on to play for the Nuggets team, then the Hawks, 76ers, Nets, Knicks, and even the Rockets during his stellar career before he opted to retire in the year 2009.

The star shared with the world that he was undergoing treatment for his brain tumor in the year 2022 and that’s when a statement was rolled out on that front from the NBA asking for privacy for him and his loved ones.

The star is now survived by his wife and three kids, out of which one plays for the college basketball team called Georgia Tech.

The shocking news led to an outpouring of love and tributes for the legendary player as many mourned the loss of one of the greatest players in the sport of basketball.
